Troy Schremmer

Theatre Director, Men’s Prison/Death Row

Troy Schremmer has been involved with Prison Stories since 2014 as an actor, writer and theatrical director.   Originally from Kansas, Troy got himself to New York City to study acting at HB Studios and worked in the NYC public school system as a mentor and teaching artist.  He has performed with HB Playwrights Foundation, Midtown International Theatre Festival, Theatre for a New Audience, Mint Theater, and Ensemble Studio Theatre.

Troy has also produced and written a couple of plays with his wife Jonny. Their play, The Ballad of Rusty and Roy, premiered at the New York International Fringe Festival and was a part of the Arkansas New Play Festival at TheatreSquared in 2012.  Troy was one of the lead actors in Mike Akel’s award winning film, CHALK, which received ‘Best Ensemble’ acting awards from three different film festivals including the Los Angeles Film Festival.

He moved to NWA from NYC after finishing at 9 year stint with the Collegiate Churches as a director of education in Northern Manhattan where he worked with children in Washington Heights playing guitar, singing songs and telling stories.
