Friday evening, November 15. Silent auction and reception begin at 7:00, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Fayetteville, AR. The performance of “Stories From the Inside Out” begins at 8:00pm presented by the NWA Prison Story Project. We are especially excited about this staged reading. Jonny Schremmer has joined us as our resident volunteer after recently having moved here from New York. Katie Nichol, our stellar creative writing director, has created a chapbook of some of the writing of the women from this class, and limited edition copies will be available the night of the reading! Erika Wilhite is busy creating another powerful script of 4 months of the inmate’s writing and storytelling, and rehearsing the actors who will read their work. Andrew Kilgore was invited into our class to take portraits of the women who’s stories you will be hearing. They are breathtaking and will be on display the night of the show. And our brilliant resident songwriter, Shannon Wurst, will be performing the song that this class wrote during her time with them.
There are too many local businesses to thank in this post for their contributions to the silent auction. Bring your checkbooks! You’ll want to bid on these items, especially with the holidays coming up.
The reception, silent auction, and performance will be held in the Parish Hall of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 224 N. East Street, Fayetteville. There’s plenty of parking, and a suggested donation of $10 is encouraged.
